Jumping Heights

We practiced measuring Emma after our class, and this dog measures at 13 inches… >< (faints)

She will have to jump 12 inches in AKC. Which, I’m confident she can do but I’m concerned about long term stress on her body. The other option is to jump 8 preferred.

WHEN DID SHE GET THIS TALL?!!

(Does this mean I can’t call her munchkin anymore??)

Is there something Emma has done that was pretty funny the first time because it was a mistake/stupid, but then did again and you had to think to yourself "Ohgod, my dog is so dumb"? Because most of the time I think Waffle is pretty smart, and then I think about those 5 times he thought the pond was a solid surface and I begin to doubt him.

I mean to his credit.. those glossy ponds are so hard to figure out. Poor Kiddo. I can just imagine his face, like I’VE MADE A MISTAKE!

There is no like repeat action..but sometimes I will tell her to do a trick and either she’s unwilling to perform it or just makes me question her. Like, I’ll ask for Shake and get a Play Dead. Or a sit and get a Bow. That’s when I’m like.. do you have any idea what I’m saying to you, really? (She did uh, run into some glass doors as a puppy now that I think about it. Like Face first, SLAM into glass doors.)

If Emma could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be?

Well, do you mean Corgi or an actual person?

If she had to choose a Corgi, I bet she would love to meet Curry. I have a feeling they would get along well. If she had to pick a person, I bet she would love to meet the Queen. She goes on about how I’m slacking and they get to travel on Airplanes and have Chefs prepare their food.

I saw that you were answering questions (I love searching picrures of corgis, they're so cute and adorable and I love them so much) and I was wondering: are corgis a good choice when looking for your first pet dog???

I was sort of going over this in my head when I was talking to my cousin earlier. We were discussing if Emma could ever accept a Brofur. I am starting to come to the opinion that unless you’ve got experience with dogs + dog training that a Corgi is probably not a great first dog. I think exceptions would be if you are rescuing.

Emma was my first puppy and it wasn’t always easy. In retrospect, there were a lot of things I could have done better that I didn’t think of or didn’t have the knowledge about til later. In watching Gatsby and his new sister, I have also been thinking I was at a disadvantage because there was no other dog to check Emma’s attitude at the door (like Gatsby can do to Scout). And I think that has contributed to her extra stubborn/jerface tendencies.

So, yeah - I think a Corgi puppy is a good second dog.

If Emma received a Dove candy that said, “Make ‘someday’ today,” what would her ‘someday’ be?

Asked by: mochi365

Two Scenarios for This: One would be the day my Ex-Boyfriend came over, and either didn’t leave or took her home finally to live with him. (She mopes at the door when he leaves.)

Other would involve a fun hike, some playing in a River (being sufficiently dirty) and not getting a bath when she got home.
